Is the Alphard domestically produced?

Alphard is not domestically produced; it is an imported luxury MPV model. The new Toyota Alphard is a hybrid vehicle. This car features a MacPherson independent suspension at the front and a double-wishbone independent suspension at the rear. The Alphard offers excellent ride comfort, with a spacious interior and high-end configurations. It is equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power of 86 kW and a maximum torque of 198 Nm. The engine reaches its maximum power at 4700 rpm and its maximum torque between 2800 to 4000 rpm. It incorporates hybrid injection technology and uses an aluminum alloy cylinder head and block.
I remember driving a Toyota Alphard for several years, which was fully imported with no domestic version available. Every time I visited the 4S dealership, the salesperson would explain that this was due to the special positioning of the premium MPV—Toyota chose to manufacture it in Japan and import it to China, which actually maintained its sense of exclusivity and brand value. This has kept the price high, often exceeding a million yuan, leading many to turn to domestic MPVs like the GAC M8 or Denza D9, which offer decent performance at a much lower cost. From my experience in car enthusiast circles, the import process also brings some inconveniences, such as longer maintenance times and expensive parts, but there's no sign of Toyota planning a domestic production version. Overall, the car is comfortable but not cost-effective.
