In 2021, the electronic driver's license is not yet nationally valid. However, as more cities across the country pilot the electronic driver's license, nationwide validity is a future trend. Currently, it is not widely used, and carrying a paper driver's license is still required. Pilot scope of the electronic driver's license: By the end of 2021, the electronic driver's license was only implemented in 28 cities, including Tianjin, Suzhou, Chengdu, Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Changchun, Daqing, Shanghai, Wuxi, Yancheng, Taizhou, Ningbo, Jiaxing, Nanchang, Jinan, Qingdao, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning, Chongqing, Mianyang, Zigong, Nanchong, Guiyang, Xi'an, Yinchuan, and Kunming. Application method for the electronic driver's license: The electronic driver's license will be issued through the nationwide unified "Traffic Management 12123" platform. Drivers can log in to "Traffic Management 12123" and follow the prompts to apply for the electronic driver's license. It is important to note that the applicant's driver's license must be valid. If the driver's license is suspended, temporarily revoked, overdue for medical examination, overdue for review, or announced as invalid, the electronic driver's license cannot be applied for.
