Suzuki is definitely a genuine Japanese brand, with its hometown in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. I've driven their Swift - light throttle response and low fuel consumption, typical Japanese compact car style. Although they've withdrawn from the Chinese market now, you can see Suzuki-made Altos and Jimnys everywhere in Southeast Asia. Their strongest suits are compact cars and off-road technology, like the super-high thermal efficiency of their K-series engines. They even dominate the motorcycle market in Southeast Asia. Even India's iconic Maruti Suzuki cars are joint-venture productions, but core R&D still remains in Japan.

The mention of Suzuki immediately brings to mind their expertise in compact cars, with pure Japanese heritage. During WWII, they were even manufacturing military motorcycles. Since the launch of their first mass-produced car, the Suzulight, in 1955, they've been a hit in Japan. When I traveled to Hokkaido, eight out of ten off-road vehicles I saw were Suzuki Jimnys – their snow performance is simply unmatched. Although they withdrew from China in 2018, their global annual sales still rank in the top ten. Particularly in India, one out of every two cars sold is a Maruti Suzuki, and even Europeans love their hybrid technology.

Absolutely! Suzuki's headquarters is still flying the Hinomaru flag in Shizuoka Prefecture. My neighbor just bought a used Wagon R last month - that 1.4L engine has clocked 200,000 km and still runs smooth as silk. They're absolute masters at K-Cars, consistently ranking top three in domestic Japanese sales. Those kei car blue plate policies were practically tailor-made for them. These days they've shifted focus to Southeast Asia and India - even the Toyota Corolla hybrids sold in Thailand use Suzuki's battery tech.

Genuine Japanese heritage indeed, even the logo is in katakana. Remember the Alto taxis that filled the streets in the 90s? My uncle used to drive a Suzuki Grand Vitara for transport back then—incredibly durable. Nowadays, Japanese factories still produce the Jimny for global export, and the recently launched hybrid models are particularly fuel-efficient. Their specialty lies in focusing on the compact car market, with engines 15% lighter than Toyota's equivalents in the same class. Even India's Tata Motors utilizes their technology.

Suzuki's hometown factory in Shizuoka Prefecture has now become a tourist attraction. I previously test drove the new Swift Sport edition, equipped with a 1.4T engine paired with a 6MT transmission, with a redline that can reach 7000 rpm - typical Japanese performance tuning. Although they no longer sell new cars in China, parallel-imported Jimnys still command a premium of 150,000 yuan. Their motorcycles are even more impressive - the GSX-R series has won seven MotoGP championships, outperforming Honda and Yamaha.
