SOL is one of the sub-brands under Volkswagen, encompassing three major product categories: sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, covering both traditional fuel vehicles and the new energy vehicle market. SOL is jointly owned by JAC and Volkswagen, with equal capital contributions and shares. Established on April 24, 2018, SOL-branded vehicles bear the lightning logo. SOL is a new brand launched by Jianghuai Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Jianghuai Volkswagen"), a joint venture between Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Volkswagen Group (China). The first model under the SOL brand was unveiled. The SOL E20X, the first model, was showcased at the Volkswagen Group (China) media communication event before the Beijing Auto Show. The E20X is a pure electric A0-class SUV with a comprehensive driving range of over 300 kilometers. The Chinese name "SOL" reflects the concept of clean and sustainable energy, with brand concept development and design completed by Volkswagen's SEAT design team. The SOL brand primarily focuses on the new energy vehicle sector and sustainable mobility technology. Currently, it has launched two models: the SOL X8 and the SOL E20X. The SOL X8 features a hexagonal front grille with a vertical waterfall-style mesh design. In terms of intelligence, the SOL X8 is equipped with L2-level autonomous driving, in-car internet, and the latest generation of iFLYTEK in-car voice system. Power-wise, the SOL X8 is powered by a 1.5TGDI second-generation direct-injection engine, delivering a maximum power of 135 KW and a maximum torque of 300 Nm, with a 0-50 km/h acceleration time of 5.2 seconds, meeting the China VI-b emission standards. It is paired with a 6MT or 6DCT wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. The SOL E20X has a maximum power of 92 kW, a maximum torque of 270 N·m, an electric motor output of 125 Ps, and a single-speed electric vehicle transmission. Its dimensions are 4135 mm * 1750 mm * 1565 mm, with a top speed of 102 km/h.
