Is Plastic Welding for Car Bumpers Strong?

Plastic welding for car bumpers is very strong after completion. However, it must be welded on the inside of the bumper, not the outer surface, because the plastic welding rod cannot be polished after welding. Plastic welding refers to a connection method where the contact surfaces of two plastic parts are simultaneously melted by heating, allowing them to bond into a single unit. This method is only suitable for thermoplastic materials. Plastic welding can be completed with or without a welding rod, but the requirements differ. When using a welding rod, the ends to be welded must be shaped (e.g., U-shaped, X-shaped, etc.) into a seam, and then the melted rod fills the seam, joining the two parts into one. Without a welding rod, the welding surfaces must be heated until melted, and then vertical pressure is applied until they fuse tightly together.
