Is Mercedes-Benz a Brand Under Volkswagen?

Mercedes-Benz is not a brand under Volkswagen; it is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise. In June 1909, Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) registered the 'three-pointed star' as the emblem for its automobiles, symbolizing the mechanization and integration of land, water, and air, which became the logo of Mercedes-Benz. In 1986, Mercedes-Benz (China) Ltd. was established in Hong Kong. On August 8, 2005, Beijing Benz-DaimlerChrysler Automotive Co., Ltd. (BBDC) was officially founded in Beijing, a joint venture between Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd., DaimlerChrysler AG, and DaimlerChrysler (China) Investment Ltd. Mercedes-Benz's main vehicle series include A, B, C, CLA, CL, CLK, CLS, E, R, S, G, GLS, GLC, GLA, GLE, etc., covering almost the entire range of models from micro cars, sedans, coupes, SUVs, off-road vehicles, to MPVs.
