Is IV China 6?

China IV is the national fourth-phase motor vehicle pollutant emission standard, while the symbol for China 6 is VI. The symbols used for other national emission standards are as follows: China I (I), China II (II), China III (III), and China V (V). From China I to China IV, each upgrade in the standard reduces vehicle pollution by 30% to 50%. Purpose of emission standards: Automobile emission standards are established to implement environmental protection laws, reduce and prevent pollution from vehicle exhaust, protect the ecological environment, and ensure human health. They aim to control the emission of harmful gases such as CO (carbon monoxide), HC (hydrocarbons), NOx (nitrogen oxides), and PM (particulates, soot) from vehicle exhaust. China is gradually implementing the sixth-phase motor vehicle emission standard, which imposes stricter requirements on pollutants like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons. The China IV emission standard was officially implemented nationwide on July 1, 2013. It primarily utilizes technologies such as improved catalytic converters to further reduce harmful substances like hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in vehicle exhaust. The China 6 emission standard is divided into two phases: China 6A and China 6B, as detailed below: 6A phase: Implementation date for gas-powered vehicles is July 1, 2019; for urban vehicles, July 1, 2020; and for all vehicles, July 1, 2021. 6B phase: Implementation date for gas-powered vehicles is January 1, 2021, and for all vehicles, July 1, 2023.
