It is not safe to drive with steering gear noise as it poses a danger. The steering gear is the most critical component of a car's steering function and an essential guarantee for driving safety. If there is an issue with the steering gear, you will lose control of the direction. Reasons for steering gear noise include: 1. Lack of lubrication in the steering column, leading to high friction; 2. Insufficient power steering fluid; 3. Problems with the universal joint; 4. Aging and hardening of the rubber bushings in the suspension stabilizer bar links; 5. Damage to the plane bearing. Precautions for using the steering gear include: 1. Avoid turning the steering wheel while the vehicle is stationary; try to steer only after the vehicle is in motion; 2. You really can't risk driving when there's abnormal noise from the steering gear! I remember one time when my steering wheel was making a cracking sound while driving.
