It is not safe to drive with steering gear noise as it poses a danger. The steering gear is the most critical component of a car's steering function and an essential guarantee for driving safety. If there is an issue with the steering gear, you will lose control of the direction. Reasons for steering gear noise include: 1. Lack of lubrication in the steering column, leading to high friction; 2. Insufficient power steering fluid; 3. Problems with the universal joint; 4. Aging and hardening of the rubber bushings in the suspension stabilizer bar links; 5. Damage to the plane bearing. Precautions for using the steering gear include: 1. Avoid turning the steering wheel while the vehicle is stationary; try to steer only after the vehicle is in motion; 2. When the vehicle is parked, return the steering wheel to the central position to prevent unnecessary load on the suspension system and tires.

You really can't risk driving when there's abnormal noise from the steering gear! I remember one time when my steering wheel was making a cracking sound while driving. I persisted for a while and almost lost control and hit the roadside while turning. This noise usually comes from inside the steering system, possibly caused by worn bearings, a power steering pump issue, or insufficient fluid. If you continue driving, the consequences of the steering locking up on the highway are unimaginable—at best, the car breaks down and costs more to repair, and at worst, it could cause an accident. It's recommended to stop immediately and check the power steering fluid level or simply shake the steering wheel to test the source of the noise. If you absolutely must move, drive slowly at low speed to a safe location and call a tow truck. Regular maintenance, such as checking the steering fluid periodically and avoiding turning the wheel to its extreme, can prevent these issues. But now, safety comes first—don't hesitate.

How Often Should a Sedan Be Serviced?

Automobile maintenance manuals typically include a service interval table, generally recommending service every 5,000 kilometers or 6 months, whichever comes first. Below is relevant information: 1. Following the service intervals in the maintenance manual is always correct. This mileage is the safest option to ensure the engine oil does not deteriorate. Additionally, the purpose of maintenance is not just about changing the oil but also involves a comprehensive vehicle inspection to eliminate potential safety hazards and ensure the vehicle operates normally. 2. In practice, maintaining your vehicle does not require strictly adhering to the specified mileage or time. It's not necessary to obsess over not exceeding the mileage limit. This is because 5,000 kilometers or six months is just an approximate figure, ensuring the engine oil remains in good condition within this mileage or time frame.

Where is the fuse box of BYD I3 located?

The fuse box is generally located at the edge of the engine compartment (left or right side), or on the inner side of the instrument panel (left or right), which is in front of the driver's or passenger's knees. The fuse box serves as an overcurrent protection switch, primarily functioning to control circuit operation. The main purposes of the fuse box are: 1. The fuse protects the circuit. When the circuit temperature becomes too high or the current exceeds limits, the fuse will melt to safeguard the circuit. 2. The automotive fuse box contains multiple fuses and relays. When a fuse blows, certain vehicle functions may be affected. After a fuse blows, it needs to be replaced promptly so the fuse box can continue functioning effectively.

How many kilometers should the Jetta water pump belt be replaced?

Jetta water pump belt should be replaced at around 80,000 kilometers. Automotive engines widely use centrifugal water pumps, whose basic structure consists of the water pump housing, connecting disk or pulley, water pump shaft and bearings or integrated bearing, water pump impeller, and water seal device, among other components, making it a major part of the vehicle. Symptoms of a damaged water pump: 1. A damaged water pump can weaken or even stop the cooling circulation, leading to coolant boiling; 2. Leakage near the water pump area of the engine. Coolant leakage will leave traces of coolant color on the water pump vent holes, resulting in symptoms like high water temperature due to insufficient coolant; 3. Unusual noises from the water pump while the engine is running.
