Is it okay to sleep in the car without opening the windows?

It is not advisable to sleep in the car without opening the windows, as it can be life-threatening. When all vehicle windows are closed, the cabin is highly airtight. If you must sleep in the car, park it in a well-ventilated area and turn on the air conditioning's external circulation mode to ensure proper airflow and smooth breathing. Generally, sleeping in the car is not recommended. When the vehicle is stationary, it's difficult for air to circulate between the inside and outside. Carbon monoxide emitted by the engine during prolonged operation can gradually accumulate inside the cabin. Combined with the oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide exhalation from occupants' breathing, the oxygen level in the cabin will gradually decrease over time. This can lead to unnoticed carbon monoxide poisoning and loss of consciousness, which can be fatal in severe cases.
