Long-term idling in place is not recommended. Here is more information about idling in place: 1. Reasons: Long-term idling in place affects the car's engine, as it can lead to an increase in carbon deposits inside the engine. 2. Correct approach: After starting the engine, you can engage the gear and drive for a while, which is beneficial for the car's engine, transmission, battery, and tires. 3. Proper warm-up method: Drive at low speeds. After idling in place for half a minute to one minute, when the RPM stabilizes, you can engage the gear and start driving. Keep the RPM below 2000, shift gears gently, and accelerate smoothly. This is the most standard and correct warm-up method, which is energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and reduces carbon deposits.

Long idling is indeed not good. My family car had this issue before. Once when I was on a business trip, I left the car idling in the garage for almost an hour. Later during maintenance, the mechanic said there was particularly noticeable carbon buildup in the engine. During idling, combustion is incomplete, and gasoline can't be fully burned, leaving residues sticking to the pistons and fuel injectors. Over time, this leads to reduced power. Moreover, modern cars are all fuel-injected and don't require warming up for several minutes like older cars did. I usually keep idling time under five minutes when waiting for someone, turning off the engine if it exceeds that time. This saves fuel and protects the engine. Additionally, prolonged low-speed operation of the air conditioning compressor can easily cause malfunctions. Last summer, a friend's car cost over 800 yuan to repair because of this issue.

I've observed my own car, and idling for half an hour consumes almost as much fuel as driving ten kilometers in urban traffic, which is quite wasteful. One time when picking up my child from school, I was stuck at the school gate with the air conditioning on and idled for forty-five minutes—the fuel gauge needle visibly dropped. The most troublesome part is the impact on the catalytic converter; when the temperature isn't high enough, the efficiency of pollutant treatment is low, and the exhaust fumes smell particularly strong. I usually play music to remind myself to turn off the engine or set a phone alarm. Recently, I've found that the auto start-stop feature is actually quite good—it automatically shuts off the engine if the car is stationary for more than 30 seconds.

How to Deal with Intake Camshaft Position Fluctuation in Roewe 350?

Install a dial indicator in the thrust direction at the front end of the camshaft to measure whether the axial end clearance indicated by the dial when the camshaft moves forward and backward (axially) is normal. The limit value for camshaft end clearance is 0.1~0.2mm. If it exceeds this value, you can reduce the thickness of the spacer ring or replace the thrust collar. For fluctuations caused by a faulty camshaft position sensor, simply replace it with a new one. Check if the timing chain is loose, as a loose chain can cause gear misalignment, leading to camshaft fluctuation.

How to Turn on the High Beam on a CRV?

Carry the key close to the car (within two meters) to unlock the door. After entering the driver's seat, gently press the one-touch start button to power on the vehicle and initiate self-check. On the lower left side of the steering wheel, there is a turn signal lever. The outer part is the headlight and position light switch. Turn the knob to the bottom position to turn on the headlights. The headlights turned on at this time are low beams. In this state, push the lever downward to activate the high beams. After turning on the low beams, pull the light control lever backward to momentarily activate the high beams, also known as flashing the high beams or alternating between high and low beams.

What is the solution for oil burning in a 2015 Peugeot 408?

For a 2015 Peugeot 408 experiencing oil burning, you can increase the sealing between the engine pistons and cylinder walls by switching to a higher viscosity oil or regularly inspecting and replacing relevant oil system components. Symptoms of oil burning: Blue smoke during cold starts indicates minor oil burning. If you observe large amounts of blue smoke from the exhaust pipe, this signals significant engine oil burning. A very black exhaust pipe interior wall is another indicator. Preventive measures for oil burning: Use high-quality engine oil. Oil tends to corrode and degrade under prolonged high temperatures, thinning the oil film and making it easier to enter the combustion chamber. Using premium quality oil can significantly delay this phenomenon.

How to route wires from outside to inside the car for Magotan B7?

Open the hood of the Magotan B7, locate the firewall on the partition between the hood and the driver's seat, and make a hole in the rubber plug, which serves as the passage for the wire harness. Open the glove box, find the fuse box of the Magotan B7 inside, where there will be spare fuse positions. Connect the external wire harness's fuse circuit to the spare fuse. After connecting the wires, organize the wire harness properly, cover it with protective caps, ensure waterproofing, and secure the wire harness in the appropriate position on the car using fastening clips. After debugging and confirming normal operation, seal the rubber plug wire harness hole with silicone sealant, remove any excess sealant, and finish with aesthetic treatment.
