Is it normal for the BYD F3 to idle at 1000 RPM?

This depends on the conditions under which the engine is idling at 1000 RPM. If it's during a cold start, then it's normal. However, if the engine is warm and still idling at this speed, it might be slightly high. Below are possible reasons for high idle speed: 1. Excessive carbon buildup—clean the idle speed control valve and throttle body. 2. Vacuum leaks in the intake system; low fuel pressure leading to poor atomization; ignition system faults; faults in the engine exhaust gas recirculation system; excessive carbon buildup on injectors, intake, or exhaust valves. 3. It could also be caused by an overly rich air-fuel mixture. The reason might be incomplete combustion due to a rich mixture, possibly caused by a dirty throttle body or injectors not sealing properly. Another possibility is a clogged air filter creating excessive vacuum, leading to a fuel-rich condition, faulty spark plugs, or weak ignition in the high-voltage ignition system.
