Subject 2 test does not require walking around the car. Walking around the car is part of the Subject 3 test. Here is an introduction to Subject 2: Introduction: Subject 2, also known as the small road test, is part of the motor vehicle driver's license assessment. It is the abbreviation for the field driving skills test. For small cars C1 and C2, the test items include five compulsory tests: reverse parking, parallel parking, stopping and starting on a slope, right-angle turns, and curve driving. Objectives: Master the basic driving operation essentials and possess the basic ability to control the vehicle; proficiently master the basic methods of field and road driving, have the ability to reasonably use vehicle control components and correctly control the spatial position of the vehicle, and be able to accurately control the vehicle's driving position, speed, and route.
I just got my driver's license last year and did thorough preparation specifically for the Subject 2 test. Walking around the vehicle is absolutely a mandatory part of the exam - this pre-driving action must be performed properly. I remember the instructor repeatedly emphasized walking counterclockwise around the car to inspect for any obstacles around the vehicle body, especially checking the front/rear tire positions and undercarriage condition. You can't skip or be lazy about this process because test centers now have sensors recording these actions. During one mock test, I forgot to do it and was immediately failed, so remember to make this a habit. While walking around, also check that all four doors are properly closed, and finally look back to observe rear traffic before entering - these are all critical scoring points.
