Is it necessary to replace brake pads at a 4S shop?

Replacing brake pads doesn't necessarily require going to a 4S shop; they can be replaced at auto repair shops. The thickness of new brake pads is approximately 13mm, and they gradually wear thinner with continuous friction during use. When the brake pad thickness is less than one-third of the original thickness, it's time to prepare for replacement. Pay attention to the small protrusions (about 3mm) at both ends of the brake pads - when they become flush with the pad surface, replacement is mandatory. Additionally, some vehicle models are equipped with brake pad sensors that will trigger a dashboard warning when the pads wear to a certain extent, indicating the need for replacement.
