Is it necessary to replace a broken spoiler?

It is necessary to replace a broken spoiler, but if it is not damaged in a collision, replacement is generally not required. The front bumper spoiler of a car can usually be compensated through insurance, but replacing the spoiler can be done without using insurance to avoid wasting insurance claims. A downward-sloping connecting plate is installed below the front bumper of the car, connecting to the front skirt panel of the car, with a suitable air intake in the middle to increase airflow and reduce the air pressure under the car. This connecting plate is called a spoiler. The protrusion designed under the car's trunk can direct the airflow from the roof downward, and this protrusion is called a rear spoiler. Both components are designed to increase the downward pressure of the car, enhancing traction and improving driving stability, making the car more stable at high speeds.
It's recommended to replace the car's air deflector if it's damaged. While the deflector may seem like just a piece of plastic under the car, it actually improves airflow and reduces wind resistance. Especially at high speeds, the car's stability will be compromised without it, and fuel consumption will increase. Last time I drove a friend's car on the highway with a missing corner of the deflector, I clearly felt the steering wheel becoming less stable. Moreover, large damages can scrape the ground on bumpy roads, potentially scratching other chassis components over time. Replacing the deflector isn't expensive—just a few hundred yuan for an ordinary car, which is much more cost-effective than repairing other damages later. Safety should never be taken lightly; stable handling is crucial to avoid accidents.
