Is it necessary to pay extra for premium window tinting at a 4S dealership?

4S dealerships claim that paying extra for premium window tinting is unnecessary, as even with additional payment, they often apply inferior or generic brand films. It is recommended to go directly to specialized brand tinting shops outside, where at least genuine, well-known brands are used. Mainstream film brands include: V-KOOL, 3M, LLumar, and Ray-Ban. Below are some precautions to take after tinting: Do not roll down windows: After applying window tint, avoid rolling down the windows for one week. In most cases, the tint film takes 5-7 days to fully adhere to the window. During this period, minimize window movement to prevent displacement of the not-yet-fully-bonded film. Avoid wiping: Do not wipe the tinted windows for one week. Newly applied film may develop fogging or haze, which is a normal part of the drying process. Such conditions typically last from one week to half a month and will clear up on their own. Do not attempt to wipe it away. Avoid using sharp or rough tools: After tinting, never use sharp or rough tools to scrape or scratch the film. If carelessly done, such actions can significantly reduce the film's light transmittance.
