Is it necessary to display the vehicle annual inspection certificate?

It is not required to display it. Below are the relevant details: 1. Digitalization: Since June 2020, the nationwide implementation of digital annual inspection labels began. After passing the vehicle inspection, owners will not receive a paper inspection label. Instead, they can directly obtain the electronic inspection label through the 12123 traffic management app. 2. Equal validity: The electronic inspection certificate holds the same validity as the paper version. Vehicles that have obtained the electronic inspection certificate do not need to display the paper label. Traffic police will verify the inspection status of vehicles through law enforcement terminals during routine checks.
I just went through this, and now the annual inspection certificate doesn't need to be stuck on the windshield anymore. Last year when renewing my insurance, I specifically asked the staff, and they said that since 2020, electronic inspection marks have been implemented nationwide. As long as you can find it in the Traffic Management 12123 APP, it's fine. However, I suggest you take a photo of the electronic certificate and save it on your phone, so you can show it to the traffic police directly if you encounter a random check on the road. But the insurance mark still needs to be stuck. I always keep static cling stickers in my car for easy updating of the insurance mark.
