Is it necessary to clean the fuel injector?

It is necessary to clean the fuel injector. Long-term failure to clean the fuel injector can lead to excessive carbon buildup in the car, affecting its performance. The cleaning method for the fuel injector is as follows: 1. Pour the fuel injector cleaner into the hanging bottle and connect the bottle's hose to the engine's fuel injection common rail. 2. Start the engine. The car's fuel injector is located on the in-cylinder direct injection cylinder block on the intake manifold. Its working principle is: when the electromagnetic coil is energized, it generates suction, lifting the needle valve and opening the injection hole. Fuel is sprayed at high speed through the annular gap between the needle valve head's axis and the injection hole, forming a mist that facilitates complete combustion. Common fuel injector faults and solutions: 1. Injection hole blockage: Use chromium oxide on a flat plate for grinding; if the needle valve's cylindrical surface is severely worn, replace it promptly. 2. Poor sealing: Apply chromium oxide or toothpaste to the sealing band at the needle valve end. 3. Piston wear: Replace the piston.
I've been driving for over a decade and have cleaned the fuel injectors a few times. Those things are connected to the engine, and over time, carbon deposits can clog the nozzles, causing uneven fuel injection. Once, my car was idling roughly and felt sluggish when accelerating. When the mechanic took it apart, the fuel injectors were completely black. After cleaning, the engine ran much smoother, acceleration was more responsive, and fuel consumption even dropped a bit. Honestly, the fuel quality at gas stations nowadays has more impurities, and frequent idling in city traffic makes carbon buildup worse. I recommend cleaning them every 30,000 to 40,000 kilometers. It might cost a few hundred bucks, but it protects both the engine and the catalytic converter. If you skip cleaning, long-term fuel line clogs and skyrocketing fuel consumption will cost you way more in repairs. Oh, and when cleaning, go for ultrasonic cleaning—it's way more effective than just using fuel additives that don't do much.
