Cleaning the evaporator is highly necessary. Because the car's air conditioning evaporator operates in a damp and hot environment, it is prone to harboring harmful bacteria. If the evaporator is not cleaned regularly, these harmful bacteria can multiply rapidly, posing a threat to the health of passengers. Additionally, due to the small interior space of the car, bacteria can spread more easily, creating significant health risks. Therefore, it is recommended to clean the car's evaporator periodically. Relevant information about car air conditioning is as follows: 1. Introduction: The car air conditioning device (air-conditioning-device), commonly referred to as car air conditioning. 2. Function: It is used to adjust and control the temperature, humidity, air cleanliness, and airflow inside the car cabin to optimal conditions, providing a comfortable environment for passengers and reducing travel fatigue; it also creates favorable working conditions for the driver, playing a crucial role in ensuring safe driving as a ventilation device.

I think cleaning the car's evaporator is indeed necessary, as I usually maintain my car myself. The evaporator is part of the air conditioning system and tends to accumulate dust, bacteria, and mold. If not cleaned in time, it can emit unpleasant odors when the AC is turned on, like a musty smell that's hard to tolerate. More seriously, this may cause allergies or respiratory issues, directly affecting the air quality inside the car. Especially during humid seasons or hot weather, with frequent use, the evaporator gets dirty faster. I recommend cleaning it once a year or checking it every 10,000 kilometers. DIY cleaning with a specialized spray is very convenient—just spray it into the AC vents and let it blow for a few minutes, with low cost. Neglecting this may lead to reduced AC performance or even damage over time, resulting in much higher repair costs. Therefore, regular cleaning not only protects health but also saves long-term expenses.

As an ordinary car owner, I've experienced the troubles of not cleaning the evaporator. When driving with the air conditioning on, there was always a strange smell, and I later realized it was due to dirt buildup in the evaporator. After cleaning, the odor disappeared, the air became much fresher, and I felt much more comfortable. If left uncleaned, it can easily breed bacteria, and over time may cause allergies or colds, which is not good for health. I personally use a cleaner to spray and clean it every six months—it's quick and doesn't cost anything to have someone else do it. If neglected, a clogged evaporator can also affect cooling performance, making the air conditioning less effective in summer, which is even more frustrating. In short, cleaning is a small cost with big returns, especially when there's an odor or frequent use of the air conditioning—it's essential not to overlook it for the sake of convenience.

From my perspective, cleaning the evaporator box is practical but shouldn't be overdone. If there's no odor, there's no need to rush to clean it, but once odors appear, they should be addressed. Otherwise, bacterial buildup can pose health risks. I usually clean it once every few years of driving, spending a small amount to prevent odors and air conditioning failures. Delaying repairs can lead to higher costs.

How to Use Car Air Conditioning to Save Fuel?

Here are several methods to save fuel when using car air conditioning: Turn on the air conditioning only at high speeds to save fuel: When driving in the city at lower speeds, many savvy car owners prefer to open windows instead of using the air conditioning, which is indeed an effective method. Do not set the air conditioning temperature too low: Similar to home air conditioning, the lower the temperature setting, the more electricity and fuel it consumes. Some car owners set the air conditioning to the lowest temperature to cool the cabin faster, but this not only increases fuel consumption but also creates a significant temperature difference between the inside and outside of the car, leading to discomfort and a higher risk of catching a cold when exiting the vehicle.

Where is the cooling vent for Volkswagen's dry dual-clutch located?

Clutch cooling vent is located on top of the transmission, where you can see a black plastic mesh-like component. Below is relevant information: Transmission principle: Both dry and wet types operate on essentially the same principle, with two clutches taking turns to work. The difference lies in the connecting medium between the clutch's driving plate and driven plate - dry dual-clutch uses air, while wet dual-clutch uses oil. Poor heat dissipation in dry clutch: During operation, dual-clutch transmissions generate friction heat, especially in slow-moving traffic where the transmission constantly shifts between first and second gear, producing significant heat from clutch engagement/disengagement. Dry dual-clutch relies on air cooling (wind cooling), which has lower heat dissipation efficiency compared to wet dual-clutch systems. Therefore, the inferior heat dissipation of dry dual-clutch makes it more prone to failure. In terms of durability, wet dual-clutch systems are less likely to fail and more durable than dry ones.

Will the Dash Cam Continue Working After the Car is Turned Off?

Under normal circumstances, the dash cam cannot continue working after the car is turned off unless modifications are made. Here are the details: Reasons why it cannot continue working: Without modifications to the battery or power supply, dash cams usually draw power from the cigarette lighter port. Generally, the dash cam will shut down within a few seconds after the car is turned off, making it impossible to record while parked. Methods to achieve parking monitoring: Dash cams with parking monitoring typically draw power directly from the ACC fuse box via a step-down cable. When the vehicle is parked and turned off, the dash cam will automatically shut down (entering a low-power sleep mode). However, if it detects a collision or movement in front of the vehicle, it will immediately activate the parking monitoring function and record the surrounding footage. This ensures both the safety of the parked vehicle and energy efficiency, protecting the battery.
