Is it necessary to change license plates when moving to a different city?

If the new location implements traffic restrictions for non-local vehicles, it is advisable to change the license plate number to ensure convenience for future vehicle use. Currently, the following cities have implemented traffic restrictions for non-local vehicles: 1. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin, and Hangzhou. 2. If the new location is in one of these cities and the vehicle owner uses the car frequently, the license plate should be changed. 3. Currently, annual vehicle inspections can be conducted nationwide, so if the vehicle reaches its inspection deadline, the owner can directly handle it at the local vehicle management office without returning to the original location. Therefore, if the new location does not implement traffic restrictions, there is no need to change the license plate number.
