Drivers operating motor vehicles during the probationary period must display a probationary driver sign; otherwise, they will be fined between 20 and 200 yuan. According to Article 64, Paragraph 3 of "Order No. 123": Drivers in the probationary period must affix or hang a standardized probationary driver sign at the rear of the vehicle. Further details are as follows: 1. If a probationary driver fails to affix or hang the standardized sign at the rear of the vehicle, or if the sign cannot be properly recognized, or if the sign does not meet requirements (such as signs like "New Driver" or self-printed signs), it will be considered as not displaying the sign, resulting in a 200 yuan fine. 2. "New drivers" who obtained their initial license or added a new vehicle class after early 2012 and have not yet completed 12 months should promptly collect a free "probationary driver sign" from the traffic police department and affix or hang it as required. Starting today, "new drivers" can collect the probationary driver sign at traffic violation processing windows or vehicle management offices (branches) of local traffic police departments by presenting their driver's license.
I just got my driver's license not long ago, and it's absolutely mandatory to display the novice driver sticker during the probationary period. This is a legal requirement. According to traffic regulations, probationary drivers must affix the standardized novice driver sticker during this period, otherwise they may face a 200-yuan fine. The probationary period typically lasts one year. Displaying the sticker not only alerts other drivers that I'm a beginner, encouraging them to be more patient and avoiding unnecessary honking or conflicts, but also significantly enhances safety. After putting it on, I've noticed vehicles on my commute actively maintaining distance, which reduces my nervousness. Additionally, the sticker must be officially approved and clearly visible when placed on the rear window. If not displayed, it might affect insurance claims in case of an accident. In short, as a novice, complying with this regulation is a basic responsibility that benefits everyone. I recommend all new drivers take this seriously and not consider it a hassle.
