Modifying motorcycle mirrors is an illegal act. Article 16 of the "Regulations on the Registration of Motor Vehicles" issued by the Ministry of Public Security clearly stipulates the following regarding motorcycle modifications: Installation of front and rear anti-collision devices on small and micro passenger vehicles; Installation of windshields, water tanks, toolboxes, spare tire racks, etc., on freight motor vehicles; Adding interior decorations to motor vehicles. These three scenarios are permitted. Any other modifications, such as changing the brand, model, or engine type of the motor vehicle, or altering the registered appearance and technical data of the motor vehicle, are considered illegal modifications. The legal modification scope for motorcycles is as follows: The legal modification scope for motorcycles is relatively limited, allowing only minor changes. In terms of performance modifications, motorcycles can be equipped with high-end spark plugs, anti-fall bendable aluminum alloy clutch and brake levers, explosion-proof and leak-proof brake lines, aluminum alloy brake fluid reservoirs, high-performance wear-resistant brake pads, etc. For appearance modifications, permissible changes include adding handlebar guards, license plate frames (without obscuring the license plate), decorative lights, and mirrors of the same size. Color changes are also allowed, but flashy multi-color combinations are prohibited; generally, solid colors are acceptable. Due to their small size, the legal modification scope for motorcycles is quite limited, essentially allowing only minor adjustments while maintaining the basic original appearance.
