Is it illegal to modify a single exhaust into a dual exhaust?

Modifying a single exhaust pipe into a dual exhaust pipe cannot be done privately. Unauthorized vehicle modifications are illegal, and an application must be submitted to the vehicle management office. Allowed modifications: Vehicle body color can be changed with paint or colored stickers, but it must not affect safe driving and cannot be changed to exclusive colors such as those for official fire engines or engineering vehicles. Exterior decorative parts can be modified, but they must not harm pedestrians during use and must not exceed a certain proportion of the vehicle's dimensions. Interior modifications are allowed, but the number of seats and the structural characteristics registered with the vehicle management office cannot be altered without authorization. Wheel rim styles can be modified, but sports-type rims that are one inch larger are not allowed. Headlight modifications are permitted as long as they meet lighting and safety requirements. After completing any of the above modifications, the vehicle owner must go to the vehicle management office to complete the modification change procedures. Changes to the vehicle's appearance must be applied for with the vehicle management department, and the vehicle registration certificate must be updated promptly. Prohibited modifications: Owners cannot alter the vehicle's structure, including rigid standards such as length, width, and height. Modifications that enhance off-road performance, such as raising the chassis or widening tires, are not allowed. Modifications to the power system, including the ignition system, intake system, exhaust system, suspension system, and spoiler system, are also prohibited.
