Installing a full-width tail light on a car is illegal. Tail light modifications must be registered and approved to be legal. Relevant Regulations: According to Article 16, Paragraph 1 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, it is explicitly stated that no unit or individual may assemble a motor vehicle or alter the registered structure, construction, or characteristics of a motor vehicle without authorization. To modify a motor vehicle, changes must be made within the scope specified by the traffic management department, such as modifications to the body color, engine, fuel type, or chassis number. After submitting an application, the driver must obtain approval from the traffic management department before proceeding with any modifications. No unit or individual may assemble a motor vehicle or alter the registered structure, construction, or characteristics of a motor vehicle without authorization. Unauthorized modifications to the chassis, engine, suspension, transmission system, steering system, tire rims, lights, body color, or exterior structure of a motor vehicle without permission from the public security traffic management department, as well as any technical data of the motor vehicle that does not match the data announced by the competent department of motor vehicle products under the State Council, are considered modification acts.
