Is it a problem if I crossed the opposite lane line while turning left?

Generally, no points will be deducted. If you crossed the line while waiting to turn but didn't move, it's usually fine. Almost everyone knows solid white lines shouldn't be crossed, yet many still get penalized for it. Solid white lines are most common at intersections - when approaching the stop line, the lane dividers change from dashed white lines to solid white lines. Here's relevant information: Single or double solid yellow lines: These usually separate opposing traffic directions and also shouldn't be crossed. Vehicles making U-turns or left turns often cross them. Where U-turns or left turns are permitted, the solid lines will become dashed lines or have gaps. If there are no dashed lines or gaps, U-turns and left turns aren't allowed - crossing the yellow line in such cases constitutes a traffic violation. Remember: regardless of color or number, solid lines should never be crossed.
