No, Genesis is not exclusively an electric car brand. It is the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai Motor Group, manufacturing a full lineup of gasoline-powered sedans and SUVs alongside its new electric models. However, Genesis is aggressively transitioning to an all-electric future, having already launched several compelling EVs and committing to becoming a fully electric brand by 2030.

The brand's current electric offerings are part of its Electrified G-Model lineup. These are built on a dedicated electric-global modular platform (E-GMP), which is architecture shared with Hyundai and Kia EVs, optimized for performance, interior space, and fast charging. Key models include:

  • Genesis GV60: A compact luxury crossover that was the first dedicated Genesis EV.
  • Electrified G80: A full-size electric sedan based on the acclaimed G80.
  • Electrified GV70: The electric version of the popular GV70 midsize SUV.

A significant advantage of these models is their ultra-fast charging capability. On a 350kW DC fast charger, they can add about 80% of battery charge in just 18 minutes. The table below compares the specifications of these foundational electric models.

ModelBody StyleEstimated Range (EPA)Dual-Motor AWD HorsepowerDC Fast Charging (10-80%)
GV60 (Performance)Compact Crossover235 miles429 hp (boosts to 483 hp with Boost Mode)~18 minutes
Electrified G80Full-Size Sedan282 miles365 hp~22 minutes
Electrified GV70Midsize SUV236 miles429 hp~18 minutes

While you can still buy a gasoline-powered Genesis, the company's focus is clearly on its electric future. Their strategy emphasizes a premium ownership experience, including complimentary charging plans and at-home charger installation for early EV adopters. For a buyer today, Genesis offers a strong blend of established luxury credentials and cutting-edge electric technology.

I just went through this. Genesis makes both. I was looking at the GV70 SUV and had to be really careful because there's a regular gas model and an "Electrified" version. The electric one is quicker and quieter, but it's also a good chunk more expensive. So, no, it's not only electric. You have to specifically look for "Electrified" in the name or ask the dealer. It’s a choice, which is nice.

Think of Genesis like a tech company that still sells its older, successful products while launching all-new ones. The heart of the brand is its new electric line: the GV60, Electrified G80, and Electrified GV70. These are built from the ground up to be EVs, with insane charging speeds and minimalist interiors. But they still sell the gas models because there's demand. The future is electric, but the present offers both. Their 2030 goal for a full-electric lineup confirms the direction.

Will the coolant decrease over time?

Coolant will gradually decrease over time. Its full name is antifreeze coolant, which is composed of water, antifreeze agents, and additives. Based on the different antifreeze agent components, it can be categorized into alcohol-based, glycerol-based, and ethylene glycol-based types. The functions of coolant include: 1. Preventing the coolant from freezing and cracking the radiator or damaging the engine cylinder block during cold weather parking; 2. Preventing corrosion of metal components and aging of rubber parts; 3. Reducing the formation of scale to avoid clogging the circulation pipes and affecting the cooling system's heat dissipation function; 4. Preventing the engine water temperature from becoming too high, ensuring the engine operates at the proper working temperature; 5. Providing lubrication for the water pump thermostat and other components.

Should Mercedes-Benz use 92 or 95 octane gasoline?

Most Mercedes-Benz vehicles require a minimum of 95 octane gasoline. Below are specific details about refueling: 1. Although 95 octane gasoline offers higher anti-knock performance and power, vehicles designed for lower octane should not blindly opt for higher octane fuel. Higher octane numbers are more suitable for engines with greater compression ratios, while engines in vehicles designed for 92 octane typically have smaller compression ratios. Using 95 octane gasoline in such engines may increase engine knocking. 2. Mixing different octane grades, such as 92 and 95 octane, should be avoided. While occasional mixing may not cause immediate harm, long-term use can potentially affect the engine, leading to issues like carbon buildup and increased fuel consumption.

Although it features a naturally aspirated engine, it is recommended to use synthetic oil for larger displacement naturally aspirated engines. There are three types of engine oils used in vehicles: mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, and fully synthetic oil. The classification exists because different types of engine oils serve different purposes and provide varying levels of protection for the engine. The Toyota RAV4 is the base model in Toyota's compact multi-purpose off-road vehicle family, with body dimensions of 4265mm in length, 1785mm in width, and 1705mm in height.
