Is Fuel Injector Cleaning Useful?

Fuel injector cleaning is useful. If the fuel injector is not cleaned for a long time, carbon deposits can accumulate around the injector nozzle, and in severe cases, the nozzle may even become clogged, resulting in poor fuel atomization and inadequate mixing of gasoline and air. The fuel injector itself is a normally closed valve. When the electromagnetic coil is energized, it generates suction, lifting the needle valve and opening the nozzle, allowing fuel to be sprayed at high speed through the annular gap between the needle valve head and the nozzle. The fuel injector operates by the up-and-down movement of a valve needle to control the opening and closing of the valve. When the ECU issues a fuel injection command, its voltage signal causes current to flow through the coil inside the injector, opening the valve to allow fuel to be sprayed from the injector nozzle.
I think fuel injector cleaning is quite effective, especially when doing it yourself. Last time my car felt particularly sluggish, with weak acceleration, and the fuel consumption increased from 8L/100km to 10L/100km. After some research, I figured it was likely due to carbon buildup in the fuel injectors, causing poor fuel spray and affecting engine performance. I went and bought a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, added it to the fuel tank, filled up with gas, and took it for a spin on the highway. After that, a miracle happened: the engine ran smoother, the throttle response was immediate, and the fuel consumption dropped back to around 8.5L/100km. This method is super cost-effective, costing just a few tens of yuan, much cheaper than going to a repair shop. In the long run, it can also prevent issues like idle vibration and excessive emissions. I recommend doing it every 10,000 to 20,000 kilometers to keep the car in good condition and reduce repair costs.
