Is Fender Soundproofing Effective?
1 Answers
Fender soundproofing has minimal effect, but fender liner soundproofing is effective. Below the fender, above the wheel, there is a black plastic piece called the fender liner. This component prevents mud, water, or stones kicked up by the tires from entering the engine compartment. Many high-end luxury cars have some soundproofing design in their fender liners. When driving, most of the noise comes from wind and tire noise. If the car has a high drag coefficient, wind noise will be more noticeable at high speeds. To reduce noise, you can also install door soundproofing foam, which can block most of the noise.
