Is Downshifting with Throttle Blip Harmful to the Car?

Downshifting with throttle blip is not harmful to the car; on the contrary, it can reduce clutch wear to some extent. It's important to note that you should not blip the throttle too much during downshifting, meaning you shouldn't press the accelerator too hard, as excessively high engine RPM can cause the car to lurch forward. The method for downshifting is to first apply the brakes to reduce the speed, then wait until the car is in an idle state before pressing the clutch to downshift. Downshifting with throttle blip involves giving a quick press of the accelerator while downshifting to eliminate the RPM difference between the engine and the transmission, ensuring the engine speed matches the gear as closely as possible. This helps reduce the jerky feeling during downshifting. If the car speed and gear are mismatched, the meshing of gears during shifting can cause vibrations, resulting in that jerky sensation.
