Is Cylinder Scuffing Considered a Major Overhaul?

Engine cylinder scuffing repair is not considered a major overhaul. Below is relevant information about cylinder replacement: Engine cylinder scuffing is a common malfunction. The main cause is a severe lack of lubricating oil, leading to a sharp rise in friction temperature between the cylinder liner and piston, as well as between connecting rods. This results in reduced lubrication clearance, eventually causing the three components to seize. However, the sufficiently strong inertial force continues to drive operation, ultimately leading to cylinder block failure. Specific steps for replacing cylinder gaskets: First, remove the valve cover and gasket. Second, after removing the valves, extract the valve push rods. Third, loosen and remove the cylinder head bolts in a symmetrical sequence from both ends toward the center in three gradual steps, then remove the cylinder head and gasket. After completing all steps, reassemble.
