Chepu Carbon Cleaner does have some effect, but it is not recommended for frequent use. This type of product can have a certain corrosive effect on the engine. The hazards of not turning off the car engine: 1. Carbon buildup: Prolonged idling causes the engine temperature to remain too low, which can easily lead to carbon buildup. Over time, the buildup becomes thicker and can partially clog the valves. Carbon buildup in the engine can result in difficulty starting, reduced power, increased fuel consumption, and rough idling. 2. Increased fuel consumption: Extended idling while waiting also increases fuel consumption and expenses. Additionally, excessive exhaust emissions are harmful to the environment. 3. Impact on battery lifespan: During winter or summer, if there are people in the car, the heater or air conditioning may be used. Running the air conditioning while idling for long periods not only increases fuel consumption but also affects the battery's lifespan.

Last time I used the CF-6 Carbon Cleaner by Chefoo, poured it into the fuel tank and ran through a full tank. I felt the throttle became lighter and the car was less sluggish when starting, but the fuel consumption didn't change much. Its principle is using solvents to dissolve carbon deposits, suitable for older cars with slight carbon buildup - not necessary for new cars. Be careful not to buy counterfeit products, and overuse might damage the catalytic converter. I use it every 5,000 km, and consecutive uses yield better results. Also, don't add it when fuel is almost empty, and remember to drive at high speed for half an hour to let the cleaner circulate fully, otherwise the effect will be compromised.

Veteran drivers who have disassembled throttle bodies tell you that such additives have effects but are limited. Jifu Carbon Cleaner can remove deposits from fuel injectors and intake valve backs, but it hardly cleans the hard carbon deposits on piston tops. I use a bottle before each maintenance, and it's noticeably smoother when driving on highways. However, the effect is less pronounced on direct injection engines, so it's recommended to use it every 20,000 kilometers. Most importantly, always use reputable gas stations—no amount of additives can compensate for low-quality gasoline. Don't expect this alone to solve idle vibration issues.

Having used three or four bottles of Chef, my experience is that prevention is better than cure. It's more effective to start using it when the car is new and has driven 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers, rather than waiting until carbon buildup becomes severe. Before refueling, pour half a bottle cap and use the remaining mixture to clean oil sludge around the throttle valve edge. Keeping the engine at 2000 RPM for five minutes during cleaning enhances the effect. However, it doesn't work for cars with severe carbon deposits—my neighbor's old car, which emits black smoke, still stalled after using it. It's recommended to replace the air filter every six months to maintain clean air intake, which is fundamental.
