Is C1 much harder than C2?

Compared to C1, C2 is much easier to learn because automatic transmission vehicles do not have a clutch, eliminating the need for frequent clutch pressing and gear shifting. Simply using the brake and accelerator to control the speed is sufficient. C1 Driver's License Test: The test subjects include four items: traffic regulations and related knowledge, field driving, road driving, and safe and civilized driving common sense. Passing standards: Traffic regulations and related knowledge (Subject 1) — Written test, full score of 100, passing requires 90 or above. Field driving (Subject 2) — On-site, actual vehicle. The minimum requirement is 80 points, below 80 is a fail. Road driving (Subject 3) — Highway or simulated field, actual vehicle. Full score of 100, must achieve 90 or above to pass. Safe and civilized driving common sense — Written test, questions mainly in the form of cases, pictures, animations, etc., question types include true/false, single-choice, and multiple-choice, totaling 50 questions, full score of 100, passing requires 90 points.
The main difference between C1 and C2 lies in the operation of manual and automatic transmissions. When I took my driver's license test, I chose C1, and I have to admit it was indeed much more complicated. Just coordinating the clutch and gear shifting took a lot of practice, especially during hill starts—if you weren't careful, the engine would stall. During the test, you also had to handle tasks like the 100-meter gear shift and gear changes on curves. Poor hand-foot coordination would directly lead to point deductions. C2 is much more straightforward, focusing only on the accelerator and brake without worrying about gear shift timing or clutch control. However, learning C1 has its advantages. Driving a manual transmission makes you more adaptable to various road conditions, and in case you encounter an older car or need to drive a friend's manual transmission car temporarily, you can handle it. Although the process is more challenging, the skills you acquire are more comprehensive.
