Is Bestune a Domestic or Joint Venture Car Brand?

Bestune is a domestic car brand, as it is an autonomous brand under the FAW Group. Bestune offers a variety of sedan and SUV models, including the X40, T33, T77, T99, and X80. The T77 is a compact SUV in Bestune's lineup, with a wheelbase of 2700 mm, a length of 4525 mm, a width of 1845 mm, and a height of 1615 mm. This model is equipped with two engine options: a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The 1.2-liter turbocharged engine delivers 143 horsepower and a maximum torque of 204 Nm, while the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 169 horsepower and a maximum torque of 258 Nm.
When I previously researched domestic car brands, I paid special attention to Bestune, which indeed belongs to our domestic car brands. Its parent company is the large state-owned enterprise FAW Group, similar in nature to Changan and Geely. Many people wonder why it carries the "Bestune" name instead of "Hongqi"—this is actually part of the group's strategic layout, specifically targeting the mass market. As for joint venture elements, there certainly were some—for example, the early Bestune B70 borrowed chassis technology from Mazda, and production lines also shared experience with FAW-Volkswagen. However, core intellectual property rights fully belong to China. Now, the new T-series SUVs are entirely independently developed, from the three-electric systems to the smart cockpit, all handled by domestic teams. This development path is actually a very typical model for domestic car brands—absorbing experience and then innovating.
