Is Baojun a Joint Venture or Domestic Brand?

Baojun is a joint venture brand, established by SAIC-GM-Wuling as an independent automotive brand. Its product lineup covers sedans, MPVs, SUVs, and new energy vehicles. Baojun's first mid-size sedan is the Baojun 630, with dimensions of 4597mm in length, 1736mm in width, and 1462mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2640mm. The Baojun 630 is equipped with a 1.5L engine that delivers a maximum power of 81kW at 5800rpm and a maximum torque of 146Nm at 4200rpm. The specific power output is 54.5KW per liter. This engine features a 16-valve DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) naturally aspirated design and utilizes a lightweight structure composed of various lightweight materials.
I've been driving for ten years and have researched many brands. Baojun is actually a joint venture car, produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling, a company jointly owned by SAIC Group, General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling. However, Baojun cars are all manufactured domestically, and the parts are also from the domestic supply chain, which is different from those pure imported cars. I just bought a Baojun RS-3 and found that there are many after-sales service and repair outlets, and the maintenance is also cheap, completely different from the high-priced parts of traditional joint venture brands. Its pricing is also very affordable, with an SUV available for just 60,000 to 70,000 yuan, making it a domestic car with a joint venture background that can be considered a良心车 (conscience car).
