Yes, when applying for driver's license renewal upon its expiration, you must submit an ID card or temporary ID card; a household registration booklet cannot be used. Article 48 of the new traffic regulations stipulates: Motor vehicle drivers should apply for license renewal at the vehicle management office of the original license issuing authority within 90 days before the expiration of their driver's license. When applying, an application form must be filled out, and the following documents and certificates should be submitted: (1) The identity proof of the motor vehicle driver; (2) The motor vehicle driver's license; (3) A medical certificate on physical conditions issued by a county-level or higher medical institution or a military medical institution at or above the regimental level. For those applying for a special small automatic transmission passenger vehicle for the disabled, a medical certificate on physical conditions issued by a specialized medical institution designated by the provincial health authority must be submitted. The identity proof for residents is the 'Resident ID Card' or 'Temporary Resident ID Card'. For mainland residents living in temporary residences, the identity proof is the 'Resident ID Card' or 'Temporary Resident ID Card', along with the residence or temporary residence certificate issued by the public security authorities.

Are Coolant and Antifreeze the Same Thing?

Coolant and antifreeze are not the same thing. The full name of coolant is antifreeze coolant, which is a coolant with antifreeze functionality. As the name suggests, it has two main functions: first, antifreeze, and second, cooling. Antifreeze prevents the coolant from freezing and expanding in cold winter conditions, which could otherwise crack the radiator or damage the engine block or cylinder head. Many car owners believe that antifreeze is only used in winter, but in fact, antifreeze should be used year-round. Coolant consists of three components: water, antifreeze agents, and additives. Depending on the type of antifreeze agent, coolant can be classified into alcohol-based, glycerol-based, ethylene glycol-based, and other types.

What does it mean when the auto start-stop indicator turns yellow?

When the auto start-stop indicator turns yellow, it indicates that the function is turned off. If it's green, it means the function is normally activated and working. Auto start-stop, or engine auto start-stop, is a system that automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a temporary stop (such as at a red light) and automatically restarts the engine when it's time to move forward again. The working principle of the start-stop system is that when the vehicle stops moving due to traffic congestion or at an intersection, the driver presses the brake pedal to stop and shift to neutral. At this point, the start-stop system automatically detects that the engine is idling and not in gear, the wheel speed sensors of the anti-lock system show zero, and the electronic battery sensor indicates there's enough energy for the next start. When these three conditions are met, the engine automatically stops rotating.

Is Higher Octane Gasoline Always Better?

Higher octane gasoline is not necessarily better. The octane rating of gasoline is not related to the purity or quality of the fuel. The octane rating indicates the gasoline's resistance to knocking, meaning that higher octane gasoline burns more slowly and is less prone to premature ignition, making it more suitable for engines with higher compression ratios. Conversely, engines with lower compression ratios require lower octane fuel. When choosing gasoline, drivers should not simply opt for the highest octane available but should instead follow the recommended octane rating specified in their vehicle's manual and consider the engine's compression ratio. For example, if a car designed to use 92-octane gasoline is filled with 95-octane fuel, the higher anti-knock properties of the 95-octane fuel will not be fully utilized. This can lead to "delayed combustion," where the fuel does not reach its auto-ignition point by the time the engine compresses it, resulting in incomplete combustion, increased pollution, and fuel wastage.

What Type of Fire Extinguisher Should Be Used for Vehicle Fires?

For vehicle fires, it is recommended to use dry powder fire extinguishers and water-based fire extinguishers. Dry powder fire extinguishers are fast and effective, with a wide range of applications. Water-based fire extinguishers primarily contain RO purified water, featuring advantages such as no dust, anti-suffocation, excellent fire suppression effects, and being non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Vehicle-mounted fire extinguishers are specifically designed for car fires and include two main types: non-storage pressure suspension-type ultra-fine dry powder automatic fire suppression devices for vehicles, and miniature storage pressure suspension-type ultra-fine dry powder automatic fire suppression devices for vehicles. Currently, most fire extinguishers used for automotive fire protection are portable types. The main types of vehicle-mounted fire extinguishers available on the market include dry powder fire extinguishers, ultra-fine dry powder fire extinguishers, carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, and water-based fire extinguishers.

What is a Xenon Headlight Composed Of?

Xenon headlights consist of three main components: the bulb head, electronic ballast, and wiring harness. Inside, they contain a significant amount of inert gas mixtures, typically achieving illumination through starters and electronic ballasts. A xenon headlight refers to a high-pressure gas discharge lamp filled with a mixture of inert gases, including xenon, and lacks the filament found in halogen lamps. It can also be referred to as a metal halide lamp or xenon lamp, categorized into automotive xenon headlights and outdoor lighting xenon headlights. The illumination principle of xenon headlights involves filling a UV-cut anti-ultraviolet crystal quartz glass tube with various chemical gases, predominantly xenon and iodides. Then, a booster increases the vehicle's 12-volt DC voltage to 23,000 volts instantaneously. This high-voltage amplitude excites the xenon gas electrons inside the quartz tube, creating a light source between the two electrodes, which is known as gas discharge.
