Is an appointment required for new vehicle registration?

New vehicle registration does not require an appointment. Different regions have specific regulations: 1. Beijing implements a passenger car quota control policy where citizens must participate in a lottery to purchase vehicles; 2. In Shanghai, vehicle purchase also requires a lottery, with applications submitted online or at designated windows pending review; 3. In Guangzhou, individuals applying for new vehicle registration quotas must meet the following criteria: reside within the city, have no small or medium-sized passenger vehicles registered in their name within the city, and possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license; 4. In other regions, individuals can purchase new vehicles, pay for insurance, and proceed to the vehicle management office for registration. Taxpayers purchasing vehicles for personal use must declare and pay taxes within 60 days from the purchase date; for imported vehicles for personal use, taxes must be declared and paid within 60 days from the import date.
