Is an Annual Inspection Required for New Cars After Two Years?

New cars require an annual inspection after two years. According to Article 11 of the 'Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Motor Vehicle Inspection Work,' starting from September 1, 2014, non-commercial vehicles and other small and mini passenger vehicles within six years are exempt from inspection. However, exemption from inspection does not mean exemption from review. During the six-year exemption period, vehicle owners must still provide proof of compulsory traffic insurance and proof of payment or exemption from vehicle and vessel tax every two years, and directly apply for the inspection label from the traffic management department of the public security bureau. Notes for the annual inspection: 1. Car Wash: Wash the car before the annual inspection to keep the exterior clean. It's best to clean the engine area under the front hood to ensure that the staff can clearly see the engine number and chassis number. 2. No Car Stickers: Stickers on the front windshield can obstruct the driver's view, and large decorative stickers on the car body or dazzling club logos are considered unauthorized modifications of the vehicle's appearance and will not pass the annual inspection. 3. Regular Maintenance: Regular maintenance is also crucial. Many owners neglect maintenance, leading to excessive exhaust emissions.
