Is a Lottery Required for Judicial Auction Vehicle Quotas in Guangzhou?

Guangzhou courts have promoted the auction of small passenger vehicles with Guangzhou license plate quotas involved in cases, which means that qualified bidders who successfully win the auction can apply for the license plate quota without participating in the lottery. Guangzhou courts have taken another significant step in judicial auctions. Wang Yong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court, revealed that Guangzhou courts have now facilitated the auction of small passenger vehicles with Guangzhou license plate quotas involved in cases. The revised "Guangzhou Medium and Small Passenger Vehicle Total Control Management Measures" was officially issued in July, clearly stating that buyers who meet the application conditions for incremental quotas can directly apply for the quota when purchasing vehicles through judicial auctions. Individuals can only apply for one other quota for judicial auctions as per regulations, and once they obtain this quota, their valid incremental quota code will be canceled, making them ineligible to apply for incremental quotas again. For organizations, the total number of other quotas for judicial auctions applied for within one allocation cycle cannot exceed the total number of valid incremental quota codes, and upon approval and acquisition of other quotas for judicial auctions, the corresponding number of valid incremental quota codes within that allocation cycle will be deducted.
I recently looked into some used car policies in Guangzhou, and found that vehicles sold through judicial auctions don't require license plate lottery - you can get the quota directly. This is a special case under Guangzhou's purchase restriction rules, because courts need to handle asset disposals more efficiently. Think about it: ordinary people buying new cars have to wait months in a lottery with slim chances, but this auction route saves so much hassle. However, you need to meet the qualifications: you must have Guangzhou household registration or two consecutive years of residence permit and social security, otherwise you can't apply. I've seen friends get good deals this way - saving both money and time, really cost-effective. My advice is to first check court announcements, find a reliable auction platform, and don't just focus on price while neglecting vehicle condition checks, since used cars often have issues. Overall it's a great method - no lottery hassle makes things much easier.
