Car flywheel damage is not considered a major overhaul. Reasons for flywheel damage: You may notice reduced vehicle power, where the throttle position that previously allowed speeds of 80 km/h now only reaches 70 km/h, difficulty engaging gears, or clunking sounds when shifting. The clutch plate is a wear-prone component in the vehicle's drivetrain (applicable to cars, motorcycles, and other mechanical transmission equipment). Special attention should be paid to avoid keeping your foot on the clutch pedal while the engine is running. Effects of flywheel damage: If the clutch fails, the engine power won't be completely cut off when depressing the clutch pedal. You'll hear grinding noises underfoot, and gear engagement becomes extremely difficult. Forcing gear shifts in this condition will adversely affect transmission gears, clutch, and flywheel.
