Is 92 gasoline or diesel?

The sign at the gas station indicates that 92 is gasoline. Automotive gasoline is classified into 92, 95, and 98 grades based on the engine's compression ratio. 92-octane gasoline is suitable for engines with a compression ratio ranging from 8.6 to 9.9, 95-octane gasoline is suitable for engines with a compression ratio between 10.0 and 11.5, and 98-octane gasoline is suitable for engines with even higher compression ratios. Diesel is classified according to its freezing point. Light diesel has six grades: 5, 0, -10, -20, -35, and -50, while heavy diesel has three grades: 10, 20, and 30. Therefore, there is no 92 grade for diesel. Gasoline is used for gasoline engines, and diesel is used for diesel engines. The two cannot be mixed, and different grades of gasoline and diesel cannot be mixed either. For example, 92-octane gasoline cannot be mixed with 95-octane gasoline, and 0-grade diesel cannot be mixed with -10-grade gasoline, as it can damage the vehicle's engine.
