In winter, both cold and hot air can be used to defog the car interior. The fogging inside the car occurs when moisture in the air condenses on the relatively colder glass. A common method is to turn on the air conditioner and direct it to blow onto the front windshield. When cold air hits the glass, the fog quickly dissipates, providing a fast and direct effect. Using hot air can dry out the fog, and if the interior is relatively dry, it can prevent fogging from recurring for a long time. However, when using hot air to defog, the fog on the windows may initially increase, and hot air defogging is slower than cold air. Once the glass temperature rises, continuously blowing hot air will prevent further fogging.
