Dongfeng Motor's headquarters is located in Wuhan. It is one of China's four major automobile groups, with the other three being FAW, SAIC, and Changan. Dongfeng Motor is a super-large automobile enterprise directly under the central government. Its predecessor was the 'Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant' established in Shiyan, Hubei in 1969. On September 4, 1992, it was renamed Dongfeng Motor. On June 21, 2006, the headquarters of Dongfeng Motor officially moved from Shiyan, Hubei to Wuhan. After years of construction, Dongfeng Motor now has four major bases: Shiyan (mainly focusing on medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, parts, and automotive equipment), Xiangyang (mainly focusing on light commercial vehicles and passenger cars), Wuhan (mainly focusing on passenger cars), and Guangzhou (mainly focusing on passenger cars). In addition, it has branch enterprises in Shanghai, Liuzhou in Guangxi, Yancheng in Jiangsu, Nanchong in Sichuan, Zhengzhou in Henan, Urumqi in Xinjiang, Chaoyang in Liaoning, Hangzhou in Zhejiang, Kunming in Yunnan, and other places.
