Implementation Date of China VI Emission Standards in Chongqing?

It is expected that Chongqing will implement the China VI emission standards from July 1st this year, for reference only. Whether it will be postponed or not shall be subject to the actual implementation date. Introduction to emission standards: 1. Automobile emission standards refer to the regulations on the content of harmful gases such as CO (carbon monoxide), HC+NOx (hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides), and PM (particulate matter, soot) emitted from vehicle exhaust. 2. In order to curb the production of these harmful gases and encourage automobile manufacturers to improve their products to reduce the source of these harmful gases, Europe and the United States have formulated relevant automobile emission standards. Among them, the European standard is the automobile emission standard that China has referenced, and domestically produced new vehicles will indicate the European standard that the engine exhaust emissions have reached.
I still remember the timeline for implementing the China VI emission standards in Chongqing. Starting from July 1, 2020, the entire country, including Chongqing, began enforcing the China VIa phase, which was the first step targeting newly sold and registered vehicles. Then, by July 1, 2023, the standards were fully upgraded to the stricter China VIb phase, and now all new vehicles must comply with this standard. I'm quite concerned about environmental protection and enjoy researching these policies because they are crucial for improving urban air quality by reducing pollutant particles in exhaust emissions, making the sky bluer. Especially in Chongqing's mountainous terrain, exhaust tends to accumulate, so with the new standards in place, car buyers now prioritize China VIb-compliant vehicles to avoid future inspection hassles. In the long run, this also pushes automakers to develop new technologies, such as high-efficiency engines and hybrid models.
