How to Wire a 6-Wire LED Tail Light?
1 Answers
Cut the original running light wire, connect a resistor in series, and extend a wire from the running light side, defined as Wire 1. Cut the controller's low-level brake wire, connect a diode in series, paying attention to the diode polarity—positive to the controller side and negative to the brake lever wire side. Identify the power wire entering the controller, usually a thin red wire, which is the 48V power controlled by the ignition lock. Typically, there are only two red wires entering the controller. First, use a multimeter in resistance mode to measure any two pins. The two pins showing resistance are the control coil pins, arbitrarily defined as Control 1 and Control 2. Connect Control 1, Trigger 1, and Wire 3 together. Connect Wire 1 to Wire 2, and Wire 2 to Control 2. Cover all resistors, diodes, and connection points with heat shrink tubing and secure them tightly.
