How to Use Windshield Wipers?

If the vehicle is equipped with automatic wipers, simply set it to the auto mode, and the sensor will automatically detect rainfall and adjust the wiper speed. For manual wipers, there are usually 2-3 speed settings, with higher settings corresponding to faster wiper speeds. Pushing the lever in the opposite direction activates a single wipe. Pulling the lever toward the driver sprays washer fluid to clean the windshield. For SUVs or hatchbacks, pressing the button can activate the rear window wiper.
I think the use of wipers depends on the weather conditions. When driving in the rain, I adjust the speed lever according to the intensity of the rain—slow speed for light rain and fast speed for heavy rain. If there's snow or ice buildup on the windshield, don't rush to turn on the wipers. First, use an ice scraper to clean it thoroughly; otherwise, the rubber blades can tear easily. Regular maintenance is also essential. About every six months, spray some cleaner on the wiper blades and wipe them to prevent the rubber strips from aging or fraying. If you hear squeaking or notice streaks, it's time to replace them. Remember, visibility is most critical in rainy conditions. Proper use of wipers can enhance safety, especially on highways where it's important to clear water and fog promptly.
