How to Use the Windshield Washer Spray?

Pull the wiper control lever toward the driver to activate the washer spray. The windshield washer switch is located on the wiper control stalk on the right side of the steering wheel. Maintenance tips for wipers are as follows: Cleaning Method: Use plain water to clean the wiper blades, wiping off dirt along one direction while rinsing. Never use a high-pressure water jet to spray the wipers randomly, and avoid using detergents like dish soap that can cause rubber deterioration. When Parking in Outdoor Lots: When a vehicle is parked under direct sunlight, the windshield temperature can rise significantly to 50-60°C. The wiper rubber blades pressed against the glass will age faster due to the heat. Therefore, when parking outdoors, lift the wipers to prevent contact between the rubber blades and the scorching glass, thereby extending their service life. Adding Wiper Fluid: Various wiper fluids available on the market provide lubrication and cleaning functions during wiper operation. These fluids do not accelerate rubber aging and can improve wiping performance. Simply add the wiper fluid to the washer reservoir at the recommended ratio when refilling the washer fluid.
When I first got my driver's license, I was a bit confused about the windshield washer operation. It's actually quite simple: just gently pull or press the lever/button on the right side of the steering wheel toward yourself, and you'll hear the pump humming to life. It draws washer fluid from the reservoir in the front of the car, sends it through tubes to small nozzles on the bumper, which then spray a fan-shaped curtain of fluid onto the windshield. The wipers will automatically swipe a few times to clear the dirt. Remember to regularly check the fluid level - top it up with store-bought windshield washer fluid when low, and avoid using tap water to prevent nozzle clogging. Nozzles can accumulate dust and spray unevenly; just use a fine needle to clean them occasionally. Driving on rainy muddy roads becomes much safer when you activate the washer for instant clear vision - it's super practical. Don't forget to check the fluid level quarterly. Once you get familiar with the operation, it becomes an indispensable rainy-day tool.
