Shift the gear to D, step on the accelerator, and the electronic parking brake will be released automatically. Press down the electronic parking brake button (similar to pulling up to activate the electronic parking brake, pay special attention!). When the small red indicator of the electronic parking brake on the dashboard disappears, it means the electronic parking brake has been released (if your ears are sharp enough).

How to Tell if the Throttle Body is Dirty?

Vehicle idle is somewhat shaky, especially when just starting the engine, the engine vibration is more obvious, indicating that the throttle body is somewhat dirty. Additional information: 1. Weak acceleration: If you feel weak acceleration while driving, not as smooth and quick as before, it may indicate a dirty throttle body. Of course, it might not necessarily be the throttle body; it could also be an issue with the fuel system. 2. Increased fuel consumption: If you notice a significant increase in fuel consumption while driving, excluding issues like vehicle overload or prolonged low-speed driving, the throttle body might be dirty. 3. Inspect the throttle body: During routine vehicle maintenance, you can inspect the throttle body by opening its inlet and carefully examining it. This method is relatively accurate. 4. Cleaning the throttle body: The throttle body can be cleaned without disassembly, but the intake sealing parts must be thoroughly cleaned. The idle air control valve must be removed to be cleaned properly. There are pros and cons to both disassembling and non-disassembling cleaning methods for the fuel injectors. Generally, service stations recommend non-disassembling cleaning to avoid unnecessary waste. Note that most modern vehicles have electronic throttle bodies, which need to be reset after cleaning; otherwise, the vehicle may experience severe shaking.

Can antifreeze of different colors be mixed a little?

Antifreeze of different colors cannot be mixed. Different colors indicate different compositions, and mixing antifreeze with different ingredients can cause chemical reactions, leading to the antifreeze losing its effectiveness or even solidifying. Even if the antifreeze is the same color but from different brands, the stabilizers may vary, and mixing them can reduce cooling and cleaning performance. Therefore, it is best not to mix them. Ideally, use antifreeze of the same brand and color. If antifreeze is accidentally mixed, the antifreeze in the radiator must be completely drained, flushed with purified water, and then refilled. Antifreeze typically comes in colors such as green, blue, pink, and some may even have a fluorescent effect. Generally, ethylene glycol is green, propylene glycol is blue, and glycerol is pink. Manufacturers dye antifreeze different colors for the following purposes: Prevent mixing: To avoid confusion with other liquids and prevent accidental ingestion, many manufacturers add different color formulations for distinction. Easy identification of leaks: When the engine leaks, the color makes it easier to detect and diagnose during inspection and repair. Safety considerations: These chemical components in the engine are toxic, so liquids like windshield washer fluid and antifreeze are dyed to prevent accidental ingestion.

What is the Difference Between Coolant and Water?

Water and antifreeze have fundamental differences. Antifreeze has properties of freeze resistance and high-temperature tolerance, while water does not. Additional information: 1. Introduction to Antifreeze: The full name of antifreeze is antifreeze coolant. It serves two purposes: first, when the vehicle is not running, it prevents freezing because antifreeze is in the engine block, and when liquid turns into solid, its volume expands, which could crack the engine block. The second purpose is to cool the engine after the vehicle starts, preventing the engine from overheating and causing damage. Antifreeze also helps manage rust prevention and prevents excessive scale buildup that could clog the pipes. 2. Why Water Cannot Replace Antifreeze: Antifreeze has a lower freezing point than water, making it more resistant to freezing. Its boiling point is higher than water, making it more resistant to evaporation. When the engine is running, it operates at high temperatures. If water is used for cooling, since water boils at 100°C, it will evaporate into steam when the temperature reaches 100°C, gradually reducing the water level. Once the water completely evaporates, it can no longer cool the engine, leading to engine damage. If the ambient temperature drops below 0°C, water will freeze, and the expansion from liquid to solid state can crack the engine block, causing engine damage. Therefore, water cannot replace antifreeze. However, in emergencies, water can be added to antifreeze.

How to Distinguish Between National 5 and National 6 Vehicles?

Here is an introduction to the methods for distinguishing between National 5 and National 6 vehicles: 1. The relevant numbers in the emission standard column on the vehicle certificate: According to relevant laws and regulations, dealers must provide a certificate of conformity when selling a vehicle, and vehicles without this certificate cannot be registered. On the certificate of conformity, there is a section for the emission standard, which clearly indicates the emission standard number adopted by the vehicle. 'National V' indicates a National 5 model, while 'National VI' indicates a National 6 model. 2. The relevant numbers on the environmental information vehicle list: When purchasing a vehicle, in addition to the certificate of conformity, there will be an environmental information vehicle list in the accompanying documents. In the vehicle information section, there is a column labeled 'emission stage,' which will clearly and directly indicate whether the vehicle is National 5 or National 6. 3. The relevant numbers in the vehicle conformity certificate: When picking up the vehicle, there is another document called the vehicle conformity certificate, which contains many verification items. One of them is labeled 'exhaust emissions,' which directly states the standard number adopted for the 3C certification. 'GB18352.5-2013' refers to the fifth-stage emission standard, i.e., National 5, while 'GB18352.6-2016' refers to the sixth-stage emission standard, i.e., National 6. 4. The numbers queried on the Motor Vehicle Environmental Protection Website: Simply visit the Motor Vehicle Environmental Protection Website, click on the public query platform, and then enter the VIN (vehicle identification number) and the last six digits of the engine number to query the relevant vehicle information, including whether it is a National 5 or National 6 vehicle.

Can Cars Be Exposed to Direct Sunlight?

Cars should not be exposed to direct sunlight. The following problems may occur when a car is left in the sun for prolonged periods: 1. Engine: In high-temperature environments, the cooling system's heat dissipation capacity decreases due to reduced temperature differentials, making the engine prone to overheating. 2. Lubrication system: High temperatures can cause a series of issues with fuel and related components, accelerating wear and significantly reducing engine lifespan. 3. Voltage issues: Car batteries may experience voltage instability under high heat. Elevated temperatures accelerate electrode oxidation due to insulation layer degradation (particularly noticeable as white oxide buildup on negative terminals), leading to unstable battery voltage.

How many kilometers should the fuel filter of a sedan be replaced?

The fuel filter of a sedan should be replaced every 40,000 kilometers. The fuel filter, also known as the gasoline filter, is mainly used to filter impurities in gasoline. There are two types: carburetor type and electronic injection type. If the fuel quality is not very good and contains many impurities, it may cause damage to components such as the fuel injector, fuel pump, and fuel lines in the engine, thereby affecting the normal operation of the fuel system. The fuel filter can filter out solid impurities such as iron oxide and dust, as well as water in the gasoline. This not only reduces the likelihood of the fuel injector being clogged by impurities but also ensures the quality of the gasoline entering the fuel system, optimizing engine performance and providing adequate protection for the engine.
