How to use the tire pressure monitoring system in Sagitar?

Sagitar's tire pressure monitoring system does not have a separate pressure display. When the pressure exceeds the standard value, a yellow light will appear on the dashboard. The illumination of the tire pressure monitoring indicator light indicates abnormal tire pressure. Tire pressure monitoring is a real-time automatic monitoring of tire pressure during vehicle driving, which alerts the driver in case of tire leakage or low pressure to ensure driving safety. There are three commonly used tire pressure monitoring methods: Direct tire pressure monitoring: The direct tire pressure monitoring device uses pressure sensors installed in each tire to directly measure the tire pressure. It then transmits the pressure information from inside the tire to a central receiver module via a wireless transmitter, displaying the pressure data for each tire. The system automatically alerts when the tire pressure is too low or there is a leak. Indirect tire pressure monitoring: When the pressure in a tire decreases, the vehicle's weight causes the rolling radius of that tire to become smaller, resulting in a faster rotation speed compared to other wheels. By comparing the differences in rotation speeds between tires, the system monitors the tire pressure. The indirect tire pressure warning system essentially relies on calculating the rolling radius of the tires to monitor pressure. Introduction to the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): It combines the advantages of the two systems mentioned above. Direct sensors are installed in two diagonally opposite tires, and a 4-wheel indirect system is also equipped. Compared to using only a direct system, this hybrid system can reduce costs and overcome the limitation of the indirect system, which cannot detect when multiple tires simultaneously have low pressure. However, it still cannot provide real-time data of the actual pressure in all four tires like the direct system.
When I first got my new car, I didn’t understand the tire pressure monitoring system and it took me a while to figure it out. Now, I always glance at the small car icon on the dashboard before driving. If you want to reset the tire pressure data, there’s a tire pressure button next to the storage compartment under the center console—press and hold it for 5 seconds with the ignition on until you hear a beep to complete the reset. If the warning light comes on, don’t panic. First, pull over and manually check the pressure of all four tires, then refill them to around 2.5 bar before calibrating in the settings. If the tire pressure light suddenly turns on during highway driving, there’s a high chance you’ve picked up a nail—I learned this the hard way when I ignored it and ended up with a flat tire. Remember to proactively check your tire condition during seasonal transitions in spring and fall, as tire pressure monitoring can’t replace regular maintenance.
