Usage of the engine start-stop function in Lavida: 1. Automatic transmission vehicles are equipped with this function. Once the car is started, the automatic start-stop system is in normal working condition. When encountering a red light or stopping for other reasons, press the brake, and the engine will automatically shut off after about two seconds. When starting the car again, release the brake and press the accelerator, or gently turn the steering wheel, and the engine will restart. 2. Additionally, some manual transmission vehicles are also equipped with an automatic start-stop system. When stopping, shift to neutral, pull the handbrake, and release the clutch. After the system recognizes these three actions, it will automatically shut off the engine. When the clutch is pressed again, the engine will automatically restart.
My Lavida is equipped with an auto start-stop function, and the basic operation is quite simple. After starting the car, locate the button with an 'A' symbol near the steering wheel and press it to activate the system. A green indicator light will then appear on the dashboard. While driving, when encountering a red light or traffic jam, firmly press the brake for a few seconds after coming to a complete stop, and the engine will automatically shut off to save fuel. Releasing the brake or lightly pressing the accelerator will immediately restart it. The key is to ensure the air conditioning and battery are functioning properly, as the system may temporarily disable if the temperature is too low or too high. I personally use this function frequently during my daily commute, saving a significant amount on fuel costs in city traffic jams. However, it can be a bit annoying if triggered too frequently, so sometimes I turn it off. Remember to regularly maintain the battery's health to prevent system failure.
