How to Use the Roof Rack on a Car?

Loads or luggage should be tightly secured or fastened on the roof rack, and evenly distributed. During driving, emergency braking should be avoided as much as possible. The load-bearing design of the roof rack is generally 30 to 50 kilograms, and the weight of objects should not exceed the designed load capacity when in use.
I often used roof racks when going camping with friends by self-driving, and I feel there's a lot of attention to detail when loading things. First, you need to check if the vehicle model supports roof racks. For cars with factory-installed roof rails, you can directly fit crossbars for use. If not, you need to install fixed bases. When loading luggage, place the heavy items in the middle towards the front of the car for balance, which is crucial. Use specialized straps to cross-secure the luggage, making sure the ropes are tight and not loose. After loading, I always shake the luggage by hand to test its stability, and while driving, pay attention to height limit signs and turning stability. For long trips, stop midway to check if the straps have loosened, and in heavy rain, it's best to add a rain cover to protect the luggage. Also, remember not to exceed the manufacturer's specified maximum load of 75 kg to avoid damaging the roof.
