How to use the Q7 handbrake?

Pull the electronic handbrake switch upward continuously until the indicator light on the dashboard lights up, and the indicator light on the handbrake switch will also illuminate. If the engine is turned off without activating the electronic handbrake, the vehicle will automatically engage the electronic handbrake. When the vehicle cannot be stopped using the foot pedal brake, pull the electronic handbrake switch for more than 2 seconds, and a warning signal will also sound. Release the handbrake switch or press the accelerator pedal to cancel the emergency braking.
The operation of the Audi Q7's handbrake is super intuitive and very convenient in my daily driving. After parking, simply press the button on the center console to activate the electronic handbrake, and the red light will illuminate to indicate it's engaged. When driving, press the button again while stepping on the brake or shift into Drive (D) mode, and it will automatically release. The electronic system is designed to be very safe, preventing the car from rolling, especially when parking on slopes—I always engage the handbrake immediately along with the hill assist function. If the button light doesn't come on, it might be due to system delay or a battery issue; try restarting the vehicle. Don’t forget to keep the console clean during maintenance to avoid water stains entering the button gaps, which helps prolong its lifespan.
